After the successful implementation of our Remembrance project "Memory Beyond Rhetoric", we are very excited to announce that our project "PATH - Peace activism through lessons from history of forced migration" that we submitted under the Europe for Citizens Programme under Strand 1 - European Remembrance has been approved!

We are excited to share the latest list of No More War camps with you for this summer!

No More War camps place a special emphasis on peace, anti-militarism, and non-violence, making a clear statement of pacifism in times where there are still many wars going on in the world.

This year is the 70th anniversary of the first KVT workcamp organised in Finnish Lapland and next year it will be 70 years since the establishment of KVT, SCI's Finnish Branch! Anniversaries bring various kinds of programme and sneak peeks to KVT’s history! The very first workcamp started in the village of Hirvasvaara (near by Salla) on the 15th of June 1946.

Over the next couple of days participants of the international project "Global Volunteer Action: Networking, capacity building, non-formal education and innovation in international youth and volunteer work" will be coming together for the final event, an Advanced Volunteer University, to discuss and exchange their experiences and gained knowledge over the past year and a half. The project has included seminars and gatherings between different networks of international volunteering in Europe and Asia, and so made visible the possible synergies, challenges and objectives for the future. This exciting week will also see the launch of the Toolkit as one of the main project outcomes.

We are back with more Building Bridges updates for you!

The international Building Bridges seminar will start this weekend, taking place from from 11th to 17th June in Geneva, Switzerland. The seminar is organised by SCI's “Building Bridges” informal working group and is aimed at training volunteers that are active or interested in projects regarding asylum seekers or those seeking refuge.
